this happened lots of times with me...well not exactly the same thing but similar.

unfortunately most of the times it was at places im a regular at so cudnt keep the money...wudv felt too guilty. however i wudv given keepin the money a thought if i werent a regular or if the place had sucky service.

I went to an ATM, tried to withdraw 500$, said unable to process your request at the moment:P

My friend tried to withdraw 20$, instead of 20$ he got 500$+20$ = 520$.

I was like WTF, i checked my account and nothin was debited from my account.

So we were lucky, but being a responsible citizen and top of the that very honest:), we both contacted the bank manager and returned him 500$.

Would you?

It depends on my mood. If I've had 2-3 sales for Sharingzone.net = I'll gladly return it. If I've had a bad day and no sales................LOL

took back a grand once

If their's an opportunity to give money back I usually do. In that case I'd give it back 90% of the time. If it's a massive corproation like McDonnalds, Tesco (imagine UK Walmart) etc. i'd keep it. I love finding money though and it's impossible to give it back. eg I found $50 on the floor of a busy pub beside the bar, on the street and once I walked up to an ATM machine and their was just $60 their waiting for me on a totally empty street and the CCTV was broken :D

If there weren't any cameras...fuck that, I'm keeping that $500.

If it was a large sum of money, then yes. But if it's something small like a mere $20, I would pass it back. Some people do get fired because of mistakes like this and that isn't a good feeling to have, knowing that you tampered with someones career.
