I'll keep this short. Refer to this thread for the trouble caused by Darren:
http://www.wjunction.com/10-hosting...ews-back-online-till-2nd-december-2011-a.html

Fortunately, Leaseweb has decided to put all systems online until the 2nd of December, 2011. Now, for some people, that kind of time frame just isn't enough; especially if they're looking to migrate to another provider (you can't expect every provider to deploy a dedicated within hours).
EDIT: LW has extended the grace period to 5th December. Read here:
http://www.wjunction.com/1148791-post709.htm

This thread is aimed at helping some of those out, somehow. Following the RS mess up, I've just bought a server on flexible contract pricing and can keep it online for longer than 2nd December. Probably up to 5th or 8th December, as needed. However, the space is limited. After the install, I have about 2.7TB of space left, so I can only house so many users.

That said, BoxSlots Ltd also wants to chip in. They can afford about 8-9TB of space on their servers for the people who want to temporarily store their data while they search for a new provider.

EDIT: KnownSrv (Krun!x) is also chipping in. Any requests for space have to come to me, though, and I'll forward them to either of these 2 based on how many I'm getting.

How will this be done?
I will personally be providing the end users with FTP access to upload their files, and FTP/HTTP access to retrieve them after. I'll help them out in case they're unable to figure out how to do the backups.

BoxSlots will be providing virtual containers for those that need them.

Rules:
- I'm going to limit this to 200GB/user MAX. If you need more than that, PM me and explain why. And for how long, since space is limited.

How:
- PM me if you need temporary storage space, and I'll hook you up.

Term:
The most I and BoxSlots can do is 8th December, 2011. 10 days from today is more than adequate time to be up and running on an alternative provider.

I assume Krun!x is going to do it until 8th December too. IMO, that time frame is quite enough.

P.S: Space is limited, so we may not be able to help every user. First come, first serve. And, if you wish to chip in (assuming you have extra space), PM me.

awesome initiative lifetalk. i already backed up my servers at OVH.if not,i`d surely have taken your help.its good to know people like you and companies like BoxSlots exist.

kudos

Sorry i cannot donate more than 9TB of space but i am very very eager to see some of the RapidSpeeds users back on Track and i saw LifeTalk's post as a great opportunity to assist.

I also wanted to chime in and offer my hand if anyone needs help with taking backups. I also got a few TBs on fast SAS 15k RPM drives and 1GBPS ports available.

Good luck!

P.S Great move Life and Rickie. Hope people will appreciate that.

wow, this is a really nice thing you guys are doing :)

Not just providing space (which is super expensive) but also assistance in moving data.

Lifetalk and Rickie/Boxslots ftw <3

Its nice of you guys.....

I would like to chip in..

I can donate max 100GB storage from our RDP Server@1gbps and max 300GB storage via ftp @100mbps

duration: 1 week.

just pm me.

i also have 300GB for 100mbps dedicated port to donate, PM me for your requirement. i have dedi so i can give you more also.

just for 1 week. its like SOS :)

I'm waiting on server to arrive perhaps, it will have 9.5TB space. I can get more perhaps as well if people want.

I'd like to be able to do it for free, can't quite justify that though as it will take my time to setup. Perhaps some nominal amount like $3/100GB would be reasonable?

Anyone can upload it to any flehost, ffs, why would they pay you 3$ per 100GB? gtfo this thread, this is for help, not to gain profit.
If you can't justify word help in your head, why bothering posting here?

You can't upload TBs of data to filehosts, and if you have a look, you need to use their uploaders and downloaders, and the speed will not be good enough to do it in time..

I'm not making any profit from this, and compared to what people would have to pay ($6 or $15/100GB), this is certainly still help.
