User from GFY tries to take down file hosts. Not with a DMCA, but...

Silly people. Arguing over warez.

What GFY is doing to filehosts is wrong. What payment processors are doing to filehosts is wrong. Regardless of if there is CP or not on their servers, it's wrong to say that site should be shut down. At this point in time, the Internet is facing a huge issue, much larger than warez. User generated content is the #1 most viewed content on the Internet. User generated being the keywords. Instead of attacking the filehosts, the users need to be dealt with.

Yet, MegaUpload happened. PirateBay happened. The governments and rights holders of the world are facing an extremely difficult problem that they'll never fully solve. It's difficult to accept that stolen stuff is being pedaled, and I know that from personal experience. However, you cannot stop it. Piracy has always existed, and will continue to do so even if all filehosts, torrent trackers, and the like are shut down.

Despite the best efforts of YouTube and its massive army of content review specialists, piracy is still on YouTube. It always will be. Piracy is found on image hosts like ImageShack. Piracy is found in text on blogs powered by Wordpress's official hosting program(Not warez sites, people that copy/paste content.) Piracy is found on official school forums. Piracy is found on Facebook. Piracy is found everywhere in one form or another.

User generated content is the best content the Internet has ever seen. It always will be. The days of static HTML sites are long gone, and the Internet has evolved into a beast that can vary from educational and witty to gruesome and downright sad. By us refusing to accept a censored Internet, there will always be gore, piracy, child pornography, voyeurism, and the like. It's a negative on a huge positive.

There are only two things I can blame filehosts for:

1.) Gearing themselves towards piracy. By posting on a board like wJunction, where a vast majority of its members are part of the warez scene, they're only hurting their own defense.

2.) Having small investment capital. You must have a content review team. There's no excuse not to. If a team member finds a copyrighted file or child porn or anything else that is illegal, it must be removed from your servers immediately. However, if you start your service with 2,000 dollars, odds are, you don't have any more to dedicate to your service, and you should not have started it in the first place.

If filehosts would actively monitor their content and react(and verify) to DMCA complaints, their reputation would be hugely upgraded much like YouTube's is. They don't. They won't. They succumb to this damning reputation just to turn a buck. That is their fault, not their users.

While I do not condone piracy, per say, I do actively promote freedom of speech and refuse to accept any kind of censorship on the Internet. The Internet is possibly the greatest invention of mankind, and any censorship on it will be the greatest mistake mankind can make.

Now, I'll rant on the payment processors. Paypal is the biggest offender. Paypal has positioned itself as the sole leader in the online payment game. Millions of users, millions in profits. The U.S. government needs to step in and make Paypal act the way a bank does. Their incompetence is nothing short of amazing. Their verification system does not work. Every day, thousands, if not millions, of "unauthorized" payments are sent with Paypal. This is unacceptable. Relating to the subject at hand, Paypal will simply close an account if it's suspected of illegal doings. That is not Paypal's job. That is the job of the police, not a team of "specialists" who get paid by Paypal. While some would argue that Paypal is a company, not a bank, I call BS. When you're dealing with a large volume of money, it is in the public's best interest for it to be governed by an elected body.

And you live in a make-believe world if you think that file hosters can control what type of files are uploaded to their service.

They can't, or at least, not fully.

Most/all file hosts have policies in place to deal with this though. CP is removed once its reported, and infringing files are removed once they receive a proper DMCA request.

These reporting policies work, but only if people report the illegal content.

Engaging in a moral crusade against the filehosts, given that they are already following the laws that they are legally required to follow, is stupid. If they want to do something, work to change the laws. Thats, really, the only real solution.

What are they going to do next? Try to ban all cars just because one person crashes into a building?

Edit - Inspect Element. Amazing what can be done with that feature.

No, their next campaign will be to take google offline, and make sure none of their adverstisers pay them because of the mass amount of porn, and copyrighted software you can find on there.

Next, they will try to unplug the whole internet off, and turn it off for everybody. They will go after all datacenters and track any packets that have any kind of illegal content with a sniffer..

lol.. what's the saying? hater's gonna hate?

I really do not understand why the big guys ul.to, megashare, sites like that don't step into action against this 'AdultKing'. I know you guys have the pockets for a pretty damn good lawyer to reveal exactly who, and what this guys motives are.

He started his 'so-called' campaign as a crusade against CP, and any filehost that hosts CP. This campaign has quickly changed to any filehost that is found to have any 'copyright software', now it has changed to the "REAL" meaning. He aims to shutdown payment providers for any site that is found to have any kind of Stolen Adult content. Why I ask you? Because:

1) He is in the porn industry!!! He thinks that you're sites are the reasons, that he cannot convert any of his traffic to sales anymore. (even though we all know that people stopped paying for porn content online long ago.

2) He is very upset that paypal has processed any sales for any site that is found to have any porn on it. Because, paypal doesent process for them, which would make it easier for an end user to buy subscriptions. Although this does heavily violate paypal's TOS, legally, if any of these files are reported to the site, the files should immediately be removed. Any of you file lockers should have due process. And given a chance to remove the infringing content, and paypal or any of your processors shouldn't 'shut-down' any services to you. I feel this is unfair, and illegal.

This guy has no credibility. His mission-statement keeps changing. He's allegedly the crusader of truth and justice, and is working hand in hand with payment processors to remove the scourge of the internet (you guys) When his site:

stopfilelockers.com

is 100% fraudulent, and is only made for the sole purpose of trying to get a big buzz behind his 'movement'

But there are a number of things which are upsetting to me. And number one is the fact that he paid someone on fiverr.com 5$

to add 1000 facebook likes:

yStxc.png

Not very smart to have fake accounts & like's added to your movement, if you are indeed working with paypal, and the media, for this here shows the extent you'll go to try and make it look like there is a concern for people wanting to shut down these sites. Obviously you'll do anything. Legal or Not.

Number 2. You are searching for CP on google?! is this legal where you're from? It is disgusting and anyone that does profit from this deserves to be shot, but You are searching for CP?? I'm sure the US government has an agency which is dedicated to this, and doesen't need some 3rd rate private eye as yourself looking for CP? Sick bastard?

Number 3. You have not once Submitted any of these illegal filenames to any of the file hosts for them to remove the infringing content? Which I'm sure all would have done willingly.

Number 4. You have only seen filenames, unless you have actually downloaded the CP& Copyright software?

I dunno. I just know that the big sites have big pockets, and can get some pretty damn good lawyers. I don't know why you guys don't just put some bucks together, and slam this guy with a 40million dollar lawsuit? And sue paypal as well?

I also suggest, that you guys look into getting merchant accounts, if you were relying solely on paypal as a means of payments.

anyway.. this was just a rant.. sorry.

I mean, all it would take really, is to have someones lawyer call the representative from paypal that he is working with and inform them that he is a prolific porn content producer and trader, and that the whole campaign is being led through all porno affiliates from GFY? I don't think paypal would want to affiliate with the porn companies as it would tarnish their name?

edit..

Julie Bainbridge from paypal is who a lawyer would want to get ahold of incase that one of you guys did pony up. :)

Good Post moogie.

The problem is all file hosting always think others are competitor.
This guy know this situation, that's why he can easily started this case.

So for all filehosting when they facing same problem, IMHO they should temporary forget their competition, and worked together for solved this problems, contact each others. Take all necessary actions and give all proof to Paypal that all of problems from adultking is nothing but fake. It will be speed up the process than working alone. If they work together for solve this case, i think that guy won't get easy chance again to expand his mess.

And for that guy....he just want publicity and maybe money, his evidence ( which lot peoples believe are fake ) are underage content, why he have to showed that to Paypal, there's some organization that more credible for that matter, so this guy is working only for his own benefit.

They're just pissed because nobody buys porn anymore, it's easier to just go to brazzers tubesites, and watch it for free.

Exactly. Agree 100%. Funny thing is that they allow tube sites to store illegal porn.

Basically, everything you said in this topic is what I would like to say. Big beer from me comes to you.

---------- Post added at 09:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:52 PM ----------

They won't get more sales if filelockers disappear. This is not where this problem has its roots. The problem is that availability of free content nowadays is too huge and people get used to it. Destroying filelockers is just small part of it.

Kapitalnie,

Good point, but the thing wrong with this guy is, he thinks just because he's found some links with curious names(gross ones at that). He has authority to take sites offline? Starting with their funding? What ever happened to due process? And protocols for handling things the right way? He's only making himself look like a complete idiot. How long does he thing it takes before paypal, and anyone else he contacted realizes where the information he gave them came from? LOL? A porn guy? Do you think they had any ideas to this when he first started his conversations? I think not..

Sorry, but I say a big fuck you to AdultKing (The saviour of the interweb)!
Do things the right way buddy, or don't do them at all.
If he was so intent on taking out CP, he would be helping get all those links off of every site, and back and forth on phone with law enforcement.

But obviously his mission is fueled by jealousy, and his wish that he was earning just a fraction of what these hosts are.

Exactly. Agree 100%. Funny thing is that they allow tube sites to store illegal porn.

Of course adultking won't attack tube sites.
It's part of his promotional marketing tools ;).

Tube site is like promoting sites for his porn site, teaser clips with low resolution and low duration. When visitors see clips and curious they expected them to join their site.

Yeah.. so if some sites work with tube sites and they make profit from it, it doesn't bother them that some other companies actually lose the money because they don't advertise on the tube sites?

Tube sites are full of illegal porn. So what they advertise there is tubes don't delete illegal files?

So this is all about the money. That's all. Not about their work. About money. Period. So they are just the same like us. We care about the money and they care about the money.

Please tell me in your finite wisdom and cash whore uploader mentality how adultkings site is 100% fraudulent and how your actions of uploading copyright protected material to file lockers that you do not hold the rights to is not.

Of course it is about money, do any of you upload and not cry when the file host does not pay you.

So please tell me How he is a bad guy for using the law to his advantage to generate income is wrong while your violation of the law to make much less money does not make you a bad guy.

You are all thieves truth be told, while he operates within the laws even if it is questionable practice.

I don't really care, but seriously do you believe that someone from gfy can do what the mpaa is unable to do?
just because he started a blog?

if that guy really wanted to stop these problems (cp/warez) he would report the files he found to those filehosts, not leave them there to make them look bad and post pictures of the working file download pages.
Purposely looking for this kind of stuff to download is illegal so the owners of GFY should be in trouble as well.

Piracy is an indirect advertisement for Them.

Windows OS is sooo popular now because of piracy, n so is many porn sites and softwares and actresses.

If they stop it, they have to pay much n much more for advertising, what many uploaders did to them for free from years.

If uploaders become advertisers, then 1000 more tube sites comes out, which can become much popular in short time (where they are paying now to advertise) to which they have to pay.

Now they suffer because of alleged piracy, next they suffer for ad bills.

If u want some one (or site) to die, then u have to face the consequences.

those websites are bs and very biased
even when you post a completely intelligent comment with a good argument they only approve comments that show they are right not ny comments to show the other side.
also have the same people named Camelot and some other guy post comments to show their support when it is obvious they are owners of the site

So this is all about the money. That's all. Not about their work. About money. Period. So they are just the same like us. We care about the money and they care about the money.

So if you work to buy a TV and somebody steals it to sell it on ebay for a few dollars it's ok? he cares about money, you care about money nothing wrong with that right? :D

warez is best promotion for content owners... if they provide cool stuff, spread it to the net and make yourself a name as a cool content provider. If people are interested in more of this stuff they'll go and google for more. They'll find the original source and here we go... the content owners have their sales...without investing in promoting

These porn guys are either no-brainers or completely out of their mind. They need to face facts that as long as people live, piracy will continue to exist.

p1H4b.jpg

No government organizations nor law enforcers from any country will ever support porn industry. They are playing a losing game. I would suggest them to GFT instead of trying something in vain.

A piece of advice to GFY: please stop uploading CP to cyberlockers' server, if u morons wanna set 'em up, find another way. Kiddos are innocent and u morons are worse than jerks!
