Wow, it's amazing to me that people are accusing me (and other's interested in starting this project) of being greedy (while somehow relating this to the idea of an opensource project).
I want the project to be opensource because (as we've seen with Rapidleech, phpUploader, and numerous scripts built off of it) coders will often be busy with other priorities in their lives, tire of the project, or just lose interest in adding features/capabilities that they themselves wouldn't make use of.
Also, I think it's worth noting that the content of a forum should be up to and controlled by the board of that forum. While posting to numerous boards can be used to spam, posting to a couple can be better for everyone (and is encouraged by a lot of sites).
I'm a large uploader who (among other things) takes a great amount of pride in the quality of my uploads (both the quality of the material itself and the presentation of it). In this respect I am undeniably in the upper ten percent of uploaders.
In short,
cvrle77, I can't imagine how you could have made a more ridiculous, mindless, and insulting post.
I'm sorry to have been away from the thread for awhile, but my computer was stolen from my car in a smash-and-grab and I've been too busy to take time to go somewhere to use a computer to check the thread.
To all those who have expressed interest in developing the code, I'll be PMing you so we can start figuring out what the aim should be and how we should go about developing the product to begin with!
More coders would be welcome, please respond in this thread or PM me if you're interested!
I currently have and use both Rapidleech and sBorg, and while I've made my issues with Rapidleech clear, I haven't discussed sBorg very much mostly because I've only just started testing it out.
While the automation of sBorg is enticing, and a lot of the features quite nice, the project is eerily similar to phpUploader (which is given credit for being the initial inspiration).
sBorg also is limited to 5 processes at a time (I'm not sure if this is a strict number or some sort of estimate) before the process gets FUBAR.
Also, the speeds of sBorg are laughable compared to those of Rapidleech, the project was designed to be easy on resources, but this severely limits those uploaders who would like to use a powerful server for powerful uploading!
