I am an active uploader who has been using Rapidleech for awhile now to upload to my various filehosts (I upload to 7).

Since I first downloaded the product I have become INCREDIBLY disillusioned with the community around the Rapidleech script.

The entire project has been hijacked by RapidleechHost.com, who charge ridiculously high monthly fees for their plugins and have a very narrow and limited selection of services they provide themselves.

There are no new releases, no new features, nothing. In short, the project has lost all the characteristics of an opensource project, and the forum has essentially become just a dumping ground for spammers (mostly porn, it seems).

I would very much like to change this. While clearly the greed and laziness of the folks who are running the forum and profiting from RapidleechHost.com has derailed the Rapidleech project (while the RapidleechHost.com script has more working plugins, they aren't developing new features or really improving the overall script in any meaningful way), I am looking for a couple of programmers to start developing another script (derived from the Rapidleech script, of course) and build our own community!

I myself am not a programmer; what I am is incredibly organized and good at creating and maintaining a forum! Also (as I've mentioned) I do A LOT of uploading and so would be able to provide valuable ideas and feedback as an end user (although fairly quickly there would be no shortage of those).

The project would be opensource and while we would ask for donations to cover server costs and whatever other costs might arise, the project would not be allowed to decline to the state of the Rapidleech project.

If you're interested in helping on such development, please either respond in this thread or PM me with your skills and what you feel you could contribute to the forum!

NOTE: I suppose it might be worth mentioning that in the long term I anticipate either integrating a linksharing site or having one as a close affiliate.

To be honest mate, I could not agree with you more.
I was thinking of opening a forum myself for proper updated RapidLeech plugins, but due to my board exams I am unable to do so.

People like RapidLeechHost, DEVILZ and others who know PHP and forgets that RapidLeech is but an OPEN SOURCE code. They are charging ridiculously large amounts for coding or fixing some of the plugins. I'm not saying that the work is easy, its not and I do know that. BUT, taking something which is open source and then just adding some stuff and monetizing it is a disgrace. DEVILZ is a respected coder, but this idea of theirs I really don't support.

I myself have started learning PHP so that I am able to build the plugins myself and help others. After all, RapidLeech is OPEN SOURCE.

I mean look at the people who coded MTN, did they charge for it?
Did SAKIB charge for this RapidLeech Special v5?
I don't think so.


Hope someone will change their outlook and help the rest.

@ Maverick rapidleech is a open source project and it will always be the same.

To get the updates just use the search function :)
 
Everyone here,

I am a CUSTOMER of Rapidleechhost.com and I honestly say their services are best around.
They have truly UNMETERED 1Gbps/100Mbps USA Rapidleech - which is great.
I have often seen many hosts have 1Gbps Unmetered USA RL
NL/DE is still in existence but not USA - if their is any hardly I can notice.

Well as far I know Rapidleechhost.com is an hosting place and not any Development Team.
We should ask the development of Rapidleech at their Original Destination [www.rapidleech.com] and not cursing any HOSTS.

And as far I know RLH don't charge for any scripts to their customers - well they do charges special request plugin on www.rlplugin.com & Thats not mine concern.

As a customer what I get is Rapidleech Hosting with 102+ Plugins/MTN and normal features of Rapidleech.

I do think that, this thing should be taken in positive way.
Rapidleechhost is Providing Latest & fixed Plugins to their Clients & this should be treated as there Personal matter.
No one should Interfere in there Working Ethics.

Rapidleech.com is a Open Source Forum where PHP coders do contribute there Codes/Modules... No one can force them to post/create new plugins.

As being Rapidleechhost Client, I am enjoying over 102 Fixed Plugins with there service.Here is the screenshot !

Also , They do complete any Plugin request by there client FREE OF COST ....They don't charge a Single Penny for the plugin Creation.

Currently , There is some news roaming that Rlplugin.com is going to be separated from Rapidleechhost.com due to which it is currently offline ..... But can't verify till official Announcement is made from their side.

RapidleechHost.com employs all the active higher ups who (in theory) should be contributing to the rapidleech project.

Yes, they offer their customers scripts, but many of them are adopted from scripts that were released for free, but are difficult to find (among other reason because the Rapidleech forums are so attrocious) and because they want money.

Also, while their customers get working plugins, they haven't really added features or extra functionality for quite some time.

I must say, it almost feels like you have some affiliation for them (sounds like you swallowed a pamphlet).

Either way, the project has been hijacked. I'm looking into alternatives, but in the long term would like to have an opensource project going on (like Rapidleech used to be).

Maverick, you are so right bro. :))

And Sandip, dude, please understand the topic. If you have studied commerce, then you would understand that what RLH is doing is extremely good business, but its immoral. :(

What RLH is doing is giving you green grass form a field full of lush green and worn out yellow grass. Get the analogy? :)

really nice idea. I will help you as a coder.
I have already coded a little plugin script for Sborg which will search for new downloads. That means the script search for Title, Cover, Description and download link.
So you have nothing to do as creating 2 Cronjobs and the script do the rest.
At the moment the script can make 20 Updates daily but it is possible to make 100 and more updates daily.



Morover i can code some Download and Upload Plugins for the Hosters ;)

I will release it for free. I am just waiting for a free open source alternative.
Than I will include my plugin for free into this new alternative script.

I am waiting for some good coders to start this project.
