So about a week ago I woke to find the nice, small hosting company Motionite had merged/was bought out by BoxSlots. This was a firm I praised for it's quality service given by experienced admins, offering server locations in countries to maximise security.

I am writing this to warn anyone who bought into Motionite's promise of security to leave now and ask for a refund [I was fully refunded]. This is what I did a week ago, knowing that because BoxSlots is a UK reg company, it is subject to the UK laws, govt, courts and police. Immediately by selling out, Motionite have jeopardised their promise of anonymity.

Today I found my suspicions were indeed correct, that the UK is not a safe place to register any from of communications comapny:

Every "company" is subject to the FBI. I understand you being a new member here and not seeing even bigger people getting owned by them, and then going to jail

If you want FULL anonymity, then go and buy a server some where outside planet earth, but I still doubt if FBI won't be able to get you there.

Trust me, if they needed your small link farm websites, then they would not even need any company to open up, they can get you with the smallest of the plans. Do not compare yourself with Lulzsec and their members, YOU ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO THEM.

Any way, at the end of the day, it's your choice, so you decide and I will want other people to state their views on it

Thanks for using Motionite

lol, why would you use such a bad thread title??

as if they scammed or something... :|

its upto the customers whether they want to stay with them or not... everybody is smart enough to know the details you mentioned above!! -_- -_- -_-

Mods/Admins - I want a Dislike button here :|

I'm just a username to you and every other WJunction user on here. Yes I have 7 posts, why does that mean to you that I have not built a reputation in other areas of the internet culture, be they legal, grey zone or illegal?

Personally, I feel everyone who buys into anonymity, especially when Motionite itself is marketing itself as offshore specialists, is what they should get in return. And you by having more experience than me within networking and internet [of that I am sure] knew that by having a British firm take you over, you would be subject to the UK's laws. Lest we forget these are the naughties - privacy is getting scarcer and scarcer, especially in major western countries due to the power of the FBI.

I have changed hosting provider now and feel far more secure knwoing that if ever the FBI/CIA were to want to get my info, they would have to get a court injunction from Panama. Thank god I saw all this coming.

@Rox,
For the 9 days or so I was with Motionite, their service was top top top and I would have happily recemmended them [I even did so in the motionite thread] due to their fantastic start up and spotting of a market niche: high anonymity within the offshore market. I was scammed when they sold out. Every customer of theres was scammed when the sold out. Just not before that.,

i was like you got scammed or something, well anyways the title needs to be fixed,

on the topic, well i would say everything is legal until you are caught and it's upto the people(FBI in this case) to catch you or not

That is great you left us and saved us the misery. I would like to say only one thing, we are in business from a long time and, as far as I have known, none of the Motionite or Boxslots customers never got caught for anything.

I have been using Boxslots for over a year for my site and never got anything bad in return.

Only thing you should know is, when you are doing some thing illegal, there is NO WAY you cannot be 100% safe, let that be anything. I hope I could pass my message on

EDIT: You got scammed? LOL? Do you even know the meaning of scammed? We gave you better servers in SmartDC for the same price you were paying us. Where do you find us scamming people?

I had to choose one, I think... even when I left it undefined.

@0ccul7,

A time will come when you receive a court injunction just as HMA. I'm just ensuring it's not me who's details will be handed out. I'm also just trying to ensure it isn't any of your other customers. Perhaps I hold a higher regard for their security than you do?

It can be any one getting a court injunction, as copyright infringement is illegal in every country I have known of, even in NL, where a lot of great Data Centres are located

So get your concept clear and get this thing in your head, NO ONE CAN GET YOU 100% ANONYMITY WHEN YOU ARE DOING ILLEGAL STUFF

Look at lulzsec, they were much bigger than you and did bigger stuff, and what happened? Could they maintain their anonymity? I don't think I have to answer that

lol if you use their servers for illegal content then you are subject to any laws the company has to abide. Remember piracy/warez/torrents/malware/virus's/trojans/underage porn/etc IS subject to any laws.
if you use this host and don't like the fact then just leave they do their job you do yours(by stealing).

Again, you question the scale of my activities based on my post count,. Please stop that, as everyone deserves the same promise of anonymity if one is made.

Lulzsec/anonymous was comprised of volunteers using LOIC and getting busted, and smart tech nerds using VPNs registered in the UK. Neither are smart moves, one is unprotected, and the other is easily pushed for information regarding customers [UK VPN/HMA]. Both were their downfall, I am merely learning from their mistakes. No, I correct myself, I predicted their mistakes, and found a solution before it happened to me.

I agree you canot be 100% safe online, but god damn it I am willing to give the authorities as a hard a time as possible if it means I do not end up in prison.

@warezdemon,
As I mentioned, I feel far more secure now with my server in Panama. Trust me I read all the details.

Well, Again someone with a wooden spoon,

All clients are safe, no data is shared, handed out to third party companies or anything else of that kind, Your link referring to a lulzsec article is somewhat of a different case.. They were / are a hacking crew (facepalm) please find something else to do other than use a wooden spoon, If anyone has any issues or questions feel free to ask me.

@vizoomer Who were you scammed by mate?

@compadre Please stop with this We have been in business since november 2010 we have and have had no issues, all DMCA's are dealt with appropriately I really don't know why you feel you have to make such a thread?

I've not admitted to anything on here. I am just saying you are making silly assumptions based on... post count. I dare say most on this board may consider their activities to be in a "grey zone".

Arrange in order of easyness for FBI to push for a court injunction: PA, UK, US, CH, RU, ES. I for one simply do not want my data to be easily accessed by authorities [especially now when private companies are collected IPs from comms providers too] and I make another dare saying, most of us probably want the same,.

@ RK,
I have praised you. Many have praised you. But UK registered firms are simply not safe, and I have highlighted evidence of this. I am simply spreading awareness to those who care most about security, and those who seek to achieve the best security. Just because you havent been court-ordered before, doesn't mean it wont happen in the future [given increasing US spying], and it is foolish of you to assume it wont happen in the future.

@Mods,
Move thread to where-ever it's best suited.

In my eyes your stirring up things that do not need to be stirred, i don't know if you think we are some small company with 12 clients, or a bunch of 13 year old's with no common sense or sense of appreciation, again my clients are safe so please. Stop with this rubbish you are posting, EVERY user should be more than aware they are responsible for their own actions.

Anyway's lunch time, so have fun with the preaching ;)

Thanks for the praises also.

No point making BoxSlots look bad,
at the end of the day half the users on this forum
use fake details therefore name, address, telephone number
are all useless "if" BoxSlots were to give those details over.

Secondly as Rickie said:
All clients are safe, no data is shared, handed out to third party companies or anything else of that kind

Either way, whatever company you are if it came to it,
and the company was ordered by the courts to hand over
your details they have no choice in the matter, No Matter what company!

Anyway i've been with BoxSlots for a good amount of months
and i am very happy with the service and the support,
no point making them look bad in public.

P.S. Everyone should be happy that they are a legit registered
company as it would be harder for them to scam you!
