hello iNdeX,

I have some videos which gets deleted. So, instead of showing them on home page and categories I want to exclude them from the query, but I want the post urls to still exists in case someone comes from search engines etc.. and avoid 404 error. i will show them "video removed" or some other message
Just like xhamster has.

I have idea to tag them "removed" and exclude tag=removed from query.

Is this OK or is there some better method?

Look.If you are good in Wordpress , you can create the same URL with the deleted videos URL.
