XP Security 2012 Virus

I am receiving this message again and again when I restart/switch on my computer. I remove this error with the help of some tuts found on Google. But is there permanent removal option?

yup you got a popup saying hey you got a virus download "XP Security 2012" (which is the actual virus)

google and it will tell ya how to remove.

and use comodo internet security
 
i can help u :) go to start>run type msconfig see in startup if its running remove it..next go to start>run> type regedit u should find it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE delete the registry entries in XP Security 2012 folder it should vanish or u can use programs like revo uninstaller to do the job for u :)
 
I agree with ShareShiz, XP security is actually a virus.. I really advice you to purchase a legit Antivirus such as "Kaspersky" or "nod32". Of course, after removing xp security!
 
That one is very nasty. at 2008 i infected my pc with virus with similar name, it was 2009 back than. It popped up on some site saying that my pc is infected with xxxxxxxx viruses, and i clicked by reflex after that nightmare. I could not remove it with any av program. It says that it is removed buy when i reset pc it was back with with other name and other shortcut icon. Eventually i had to reinstall windows.
 
Next time use Google.

These types of malware are called Rogue spyware. It's completely harmless but they try to force you to buy their software.

Boot into safe mode with internet mode and download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Do a quick scan and remove the crap. Restart your system in normal mode again and do a Full scan this time.

Note that other AV suggested won't help.

LOL. Completely harmless? I think not. I've had this many times, it prevents you from doing a lot, so therefor it's harmful. It also slows the PC down.

There is several ways you can get rid of it.

1) You can do it manual by searching for the registry keys.
2) You can use Malware Bytes then remove it from startup.
The second option is easiest, for the person who said earlier in the thread "just remove it from startup", That will not work. It just re-adds itself to the startup.

Download Malware Bytes for free and do a scan, once the scan is done, remove it from the startup. (msconfig)

Wrong, there are cases where by registry key's aren't the only way to start up :)

The best way you can get rid of it is basically don't download warez unless you're 100% it's safe, and install a good trusty old anti-virus :) Like Avira XD

No, there is only a few that startup. Which is under the "run" folder. It holds many registry keys to store a lot of settings and prevent you from running applications.

For someone to suggest Avira as security, is truly. Avira is almost as bad as Windows Defender.

Download Kaspersky.
