Well, I'd first try Win 8

If its nice and has Performance > Visualizations, then I'd use it. Else, Windows XP is the best

XP has performance & visualizations perfect for me.

Its only a design mock-up for Windows 8. I'd personally prefer if Windows 8 had themes that would look like it'll support multi-gesture (hinting at BumpTop) built in rather than 3rd party apps.

yea its true whenever i format my pc i always patch uxthemeddl replace explorer exe etc i just cant use windows default theme :'(

I still say the most important aspects of an OS is stability, compatibility and adecuate use of resources.

the average joe wants a bloated OS full of fancy icons, images and lots of useless make-up that makes the OS looks nice but devour resources and may compromise stability.
