There's lot of fuss lately with cyberlockers losing their paypal accounts, and other payment methods.
Porn industry, just like movie and music industry, doesn't like their content being spread, without them having a benefit from that, which is absolutely acceptable reasoning. They want to live from their work, like everyone else. However, I find their solutions and reasoning of the problem, as flawed.
Instead of bracing circumstances, and building new business model, their heads got stuck in late 1990s business model, which is way too old for todays society.
No one from them came to idea, to exploit this situation, and with one sweep, they could monetize their content, uploaders would be turned into promoters, there would be no DMCA, MPAA, RIAA, and whatnot.
My idea is this:
Make filehosts to introduce licensing model.
You will be able to license every file uploaded by some pirate, just like sending DMCA, but instead of removing already existing content, that is probably all over the internet, how about making it yours, and profit from it?
IF filehost doesn't accept it, it's obvious their business model only wants pirated content, then, feel free to sue them.
If they accept, every content uploaded, can be registered under owners account, each sale will be shared in 3 ways, where content owner gets the most (ex.60%) filehost (30%) and promoter (10%)
So, files would be shared same way, however, 'downloader' will be landed on page to see preview of the content before any purchase , he can purchase 'credits' for download (ex. 1000 credits=10$) and each file can have it's download price in credits (ex. 5 credits)
This is the way to earn from already existing files uploaded.
For future files, industry can offer a model, where THEY upload video, and promoters have the ability to get link, previews, screens, and whatnot, from their promoter accounts, and share it.
Ok, so, this is basic suggestion of how everyone can benefit.
I would like to hear CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, no bashing.
If you think model is flawed, lets hear which part exactly, and HOW WE CAN TOGETHER FIND A WORKING SOLUTION.
Any stupid comment against porn industry, or uploaders, will be reported, this is a serious constructive thread, so, please keep it civil.
Lets make our brain cells work together, instead against each other
