I want to download a premium theme which I could buy on themeforest.

Can the owner find out that I download the theme from other sites?

You can get many free nulled themes for free. No need to buy them.

But be careful, many of these nulled themes contain code which can be used to hack your site or install malicious software. If you're serious about your site, stay away from nulled themes.

And as domains are registered, the owner can check if the domain is registered. Most themes require you to de-register your domain if you change to another domain. That holds true for all envato (themeforest) themes.

If someone claims it's clean, don't believe them. There are ways to check your theme for malicious code but they are not foolproof.

If you like the theme. I suggest you buy the theme to support the creator. I do download nulled theme but for testing purpose. Once i find a suitable one i will buy it. At least when you face trouble you can always ask the creator.
