Why US money is green?

Not sure if you have seen some of the new $5's $10's, and especially the $20's and $100's... But they have what I can only describe as holographic ink. If you move it in the light, its a rainbow of colors. Reminiscent of the back of a CD.

here is the new Canadian money, this is just the $100, all of the new 20,50 and 100 bills are now made of a polymor material, $1 and $2 are coins (the loonie and toonie) and they have been talking about making the $5 coin now as well (hopefully not)

if its red, you would ask why its red, simply put, it could be of any color, but it's green for no reason other than know to a person who put color in first printing machine, to print the dollar.

It's like:let it be green, and there you go,it's green
