well SMF is very easy to manage.. but..
it sucks because:
1. You dont get much good packages in SMF
2. Packages doesnt install good, there is most of the time parse errors.
3. Less facilities are there in SMF.
4. WYSIWYG post editor is absent.
5. Auto posters doesnt support SMF
its good for simple and small discussion forums..

1. Smf has too many good packages take a look of warez-legend.com and da-warez.com.
2. Out of 10 only 1 package shows phase error.
3. Check out the latest version of smf, it provide good nad more facilities then before.
4. Auto poster are not made for smf.

Oh! the admin panel of SMF is never as good as vbulletin or any.. and rarely i did not a parse error with smf earlier..

well smf is easy to use and safe too..
You should know mate we have buy Vbullintin and smf is free so there is a difference.

People say SMF sucks because they can't code, in my opinion.
Put it this way, I could code a whole site-forum bridge and a load of SMF plugins in a day or two.
Try do the same thing on something like phpBB or vBulletin and it'll take longer (because you have to read up on all their hooks and such).
Due to it being nicely coded though, it means it doesn't look as good as things like vB (probably because it doesn't waste queries on fetching useless information purely for cosmetic purposes).
It does mean it is rather fast, though.

Admin panel is much easier and comprehensive then VB .
In VB admin panel is so complex.

smf is great its free and compared to vb and ipb its as good.
smf is great its the best free opensource forum software out.
myBB is also good i think its good some people use different forum software every 1 uses vb or ipb mostly for there sites.
smf FTW !
