Why 400MB parts?

Forget 400mb, I see most game uploaders uploading 1gb links these days and sometimes even the entire ISO in a single link. Now that is wicked.

yeah, once i get my site to 5* ( meaning mandatory rs/mu links) i'm gonna provide single download links for hotfile and fileserve and split content to 10MB archives for rs mirror :P

Hotfile = 400 MB
Fileserve = 1GB +

If i want to upload to rapidshare + Hotfile = my best option is to make 400 archieve

reason why i upload in big files is its easy for the downloaders they dont need to have premium accounts they can download 1 single file

Max filesize for hotfile (free), so people just rar them at 400mb and upload them to every other filehost.

@pi0, the fewer links the better.

It's like that, and as we all know that bigger sizes bring more sales and Filehosts will surely pay you more.

400 Parts is mainly because of hotfiles limits for free users.

I myself upload single files to fileserve and filesonic.

WELL I'm not resizing my files to "400MB" because of Hotfile i just do it because of RapidShare xD

Remember that most of the users don't have any premium account. They prefer less links. Well, for Games, I would suggest 1GB links, whereas for movies, 400MB are okay. Everyone can afford to download 2-4 400MB parts, if you provide different mirrors, of course. ;-)

I upload what ever the size it is and resize them t each filehost like RS - 200mb, FS usually 1 link, Hotfile - 400mb .

In my opinion, Mirrors providing 400MB Links are even better than 1 File-Links, 400MB Links etc.

Yeah I agree with Myth, a lot of links can be annoying and would definitely drive downloaders away.

I'm just saying I prefer 1 links as do many people
(I do use a download manager).
