Who isn't in bed with Knowinservers nowadays.

I see more moderators getting bought by Knowin servers. First it was 'MrPeanut420' and now I see that also 'Deleted' has a paid banner in his signature. And Knowinservers also advertises now in the header.

Last week, after I made a complaint to MrPeanut420 about Knowin servers' behavior I was immediately banned by him with as reason 'stop trolling and pissing people off'.

As I understand (if justified) first an infraction (I had only expired ones) would be given before a ban takes place.

Moreover, I really doubt moderators can be impartial if they are being paid by users like Knowin servers either in monetary or material rewards.

What do you think? Should moderators be allowed to accept payments in order to keep critics at bay?

Having a paid sig isn't a problem. The ban you received probably was. You should've worked up to it (with infractions) and then received the ban. But bottom line is, paid sigs <> your ban.
 
I think they should be allowed to do that, however it should not affect their ability to moderate this forum fair and correctly.
 
Being paid is not the problem. Being able to be impartial. That's what I wonder.

There is a big danger that a moderator being paid by a commercial provider protects his buddies and bans without following the correct procedure just to shut critics up.

And, Cybermind, isn't it a coincidence that I complained about Knowin servers to his buddy and got banned right away, while in fact Knowin servers flamed me repeatedly.

The ban was obviously not fair and not in line with the procedures. Furhermore, I remembered a not too distant thread in where it was made clear that MrPeanut420 was a not too excellent moderator. But he's still here. Why does the WJ admin listen to his 'subjects'?

If this thread is being closed down prematurely, then more proof has been provided.
 
I dont find anything wrong in selling sig space but yeah if they r being partial to tht company then it would be unfair.

A warning shld b first b4 infraction. Last tym el_j asked, I suggested the same. I guess u shld contact Hyperz(den el_j if necessary) regarding this :)

Are they really being paid? I didn't know that. DeLeTeD is pretty professional so I don't see a problem with him having a paid sig. As long as mods remain fair I don't see any problems.

I'm guessing it was in the Shoutbox you were banned as I can't see any logs of it. Why would you complain to MrPeanut anyway if he doesn't have anything to do with their servers besides having advert space. He can't answer questions or tickets I'm sure.
PM a Hyprez or el_j is your best bet. I'm not unbanning your or getting involved as I don't know what you did or said and have no way of checking.

RapT1le's comment was removed as it had nothing to do with the original post. This can stay open so people can give their views but any useless or replies which aren't relevant will be removed.

He was banned from WJunction, like a week or more. Not in shoutbox.
 
No, I got a general ban for one week. I complained about Knowinservers ('knowin' AND 'Allan') blasting my recommendations to members repeatedly only to improve their credibility towards potential buyers.

Fine so this seams solved. It was Warezdemon not MrPeanut as you originally though so your original statement of saying you were banned by MrPeanut for highlighting problems with Knowin Servers is false.

Therefore theirs no need for this topic as it's all based on an original false assumption and only further provokes rumors and drama.
