also again, where is the poll?

Sadly I have to agree and probably increase in all prices, they know torrents are getting knocked over quickly and people need something to use.

they know torrents are getting knocked over.

The big torrent sites have been sailing trough stormy weather for some time now, no doubt. But so far this has had little to no effect on the availability or speed of the actual torrents or anything of that nature. If anything, torrents are more popular today than they were yesterday thanks to all the media attention. If RS knows one thing it is that torrents are a bigger (and IMHO, a better) competitor right now.

Worth noting is that RS will most likely be the next target for those anti piracy groups. And rest assured, if they can take down a free service they sure as hell can do the same with a paid service that - unlike torrent sites - have the actual warez stored on their servers (and ask money for it!). Everyone can see it coming, anyone who doesn't needs a sense of logic ASAP or needs to have a good look around. If/when RS (and the others) get shut down or have to do something drastic like Mininova, torrents will still be around. Because unlike sites and businesses torrents can't be taken down.

I personally hope that RS and co get shut down soon. Mainly because I'm against the whole 'Let's pay for warez' mentality they created. Almost like it's a normal thing. Which it obviously isn't. Didn't we go looking for warez because we didn't want to pay? All I can say is that before these file hosts were around the communities on warez sites were a lot maturer, warez was free (the way it f*ckin' should be), there weren't a 1.000 links per download and it was all just a lot more fun. Let's get back to the mighty FTP days I say. God damn how I hate those file hosts and its dumb users X-( (I do <3 some of you, but no sex till y'all quit RS).

Bro RS aint never gonna die are they ? they might loose shitloads but I doubt they will cease because of lack of members.

ya kinda agree with what you're saying.

RS still has no real competition right now an thats why they feel they can get away doing whatever they want.

Hotfile is one of their biggest competitors now, and just when hotfile was really close, RS starts to pay commission for sales T.T and people runs back to RS again.

its inevitable

all hail rS =)

Maybe at first, but businesses don't work like warez sites. If RS's business model should become illegal by a court case they (=the other file hosts) have a serious problem. They would have no choice but to call it quits or go do something different. Such a scenario sounds a bit far out for most but really I'm convinced it's inevitable and around the corner. About FTP's, I dunno. I don't see why it is far away. I still use it quite often for tunes.
