Hi , I want to know can I do the following thing.

I want to Stream HD video into sites like yycast or justin.tv
The stream will be played on Windows RDP and using capture software like manycam or webcammax i will capture it (Screen Capture) and using Adobe FME stream into yycast or justin.tv or any other..

Is it possible through windows RDP without Lag .

Anyone can provide with the RDP for above mention purpose please PM me.
Thanks

Let me know if I get it right. You will go to those sites on the RDP and play the videos. Then you'll use a software on your RDP to capture the videos being played? Well, the simplest answer is it will lag.

Think of this way, 99% of the time servers don't have graphics cards and don't have a powerful built-in video playback features. So it's like trying to play a video on a desktop computer which doesn't have a video card and no video drivers installed. The server is worse than this desktop so, it will lag.

I think you require a big dedi with RDP. Levac109 is right about the Lag & GPU configuration thing.
Find one with More CPU cores. Atleast 4 in this case. Or find a 2nd gen i7 with Intel integrated graphics. I think that should do for you.
And before you try it on your RDP. Try doing the same from your PC. Don't waste your money just like that. (y)

My box is a dedicated server with 8 cores and 8 GB DDR3 RAM with dedicated 100 Mbps - plus it's located 6 hours drive from my home but it still lags. I don't think what he said would work unless the server is located like 5-10 mins drive from his home lol. It's all about the ping. Need to find one with < 10ms. :)

True ^o) Maybe it's about the ping. But i was talking about the streaming thing with correct ping & transfer rate >.>
So then, it only depends on the Distance between his home & server i assume. Else it will definitely lag (y)

well i dont get it , basically RDP is just another computer like my own right, the problem is i dont have enough uploading speed here,
So i am playing the video on RDP and I am capturing the video on that RDP, means the software like splitcam will be install on the RDP not my PC. I will run the Splitcam on RDP and capture the video . Is that possible?

so u want to capture the video played on ur rdp?
Yes you can, rdp is a computer too as you know.
You have to google for a desktop recorder and install it on ur rdp

Levac109 just confused you
Just go with a dedi with 4 Cores (I think it'll Lag on 2 cores) & Install RDP on it and here, you're good to go buddy (y)

A dedi with 4 cores? That would cost him at least $60+ and what if it doesn't work? Most dedi companies won't refund him just because the streaming lags. There goes $60+. I have 8 cores CPU dedi as I said and it's still lag even the server is reasonably close to me (6 hours drive).

So here are your options (1) If you're located in North America, or better if in the US, try one of the dedis from volumedrive. (2) If you're located in the Europe, for sure, you should have a good ping from OVH's dedis. So try one of their cheap kimsufis. Or (3) if you can find a good, close friend who hosts RDP, ask him for a favour to test first with that app :P.

However, capturing softwares are heavy when they're ran on the server or any PC. It uses a high portion of the CPU to capture the moving images. So it's possible the RDP sellers will seek trouble with you.
