It all depends on you. If your a noob and out to make money uploading then your site will probably die after 3-4 months in which case it doesn't matter what script you use. If on the other hand your serious about your site then you want to be thinking slightly longer eg a year. In such a case don't go near vBulletin 3 as it's no longer supported and you'll only create problems for yourself. vBulletin 4 isn't great either. They don't have the themes or plugins available that the vBulletin 3 series had as most developers have lost interest in the script, myself included. I coded several plugins for vb and I'll never do another. IPB on the other had has a good developer community and a great release program. They release features which are in general 9 months ahead of any other script.

Having said all that a great webmaster can polish a turd and make it look good.

no its not all about money i have a music site with 4 years online in SMF. but i want to try ipb or vbulletin .. i could try phpbb but i found more insteresting mods on vb and ipb ... so after a long tim its better a ipb right?

ForumScriptz.org
Best place to get null scripts & ya, I`m IPB fan too.
They never do such shits to take you down just go with offshore host & you will be fine.

VB to sum is better but its a horrible and complex script..

It is poorly coded.
You have a better chance of using ipb and adding more to it that you can think of.
