For the most part unmetered/unlimited is a mere illusion, because any port, be it 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps have a max. Same goes for storage, no one in the right mind will share a dedicated with you for $50 or let alone $25 or $10. A True 1 Gbps Port unmetered will cost over $1000. In all actuality you will have to share the port with how many users are on the dedicated. So the question to ask would be rather, how many people will be on the port? Some will say only 10 to 20, but after time progress the company will have to limit you or close down. Worst case is the host does it without the courtesy of telling you. I hate to say this, but there is no possible reason to use the term unmetered or unlimited, because it is just a buzz word, therefore since buzz titles are not allowed buzz words which lie about the service shouldn't be allowed. To sum it up, I suggest the buzz words unlimited and unmetered be disallowed. For me it is still scamming, because the buzz word doesn't even give any conclusive information.
*30TB/300TB is rough estimates
basic formula for unmetered port: (assuming it ain't shared)
1) 100mbps NOT 100 MBPS 8Mbps = 1 MBPS!!!!!!
divide 30TB by how many is on the server or server max
2) 1 gbps
divide 300TB by how many is on the server or server max
No to mention the server hosting the services probably do use some of the transfer max.
You are not getting unlimited/unmetered, you are getting scammed!
Unless you want to go for a quickie, I suggest thinking twice before choosing your host, also read guides by wonderful members of the forum, I especially enjoy Jason's guide.
