The High Court has ruled that several UK ISPs including Sky, Everything Everywhere, TalkTalk, O2 and Virgin Media must censor The Pirate Bay website. This means that millions of Internet users will be prevented from accessing the popular BitTorrent site in the weeks to come. The Pirate Bay say they aren’t concerned by yet another court-ordered blockade, and point out that there are plenty of ways to circumvent such censorship.

I find this funny considering it is the BPI who wants the censor TPB when it was only a few weeks ago when Dan Bull (artists) became famous for an anti-BPI song he published through thepromobay.

This is designed to protect artists, instead it negatively effects thepromobay artists and futuremore it provents me from legally downloading bands which I listen to. Purely so the mainstream artists get a few extra pounds. Yet they failed to realise proxy/VPNs/Tor will bypass it and there will be no effect on the sales whatsoever. If anything, they may lose sales in protest or simply due to not being able to 'try before you buy'.

Edit: PirateParty UK has made a reverse proxy; http://tpb.pirateparty.org.uk/
