In this guide i am going to show you how to upgrade your Centos 6.x to Centos 6.3 by using a few SSH commands.Make sure you are login as root with your favorite SSH client such as putty.
Type the following lines at the SSH prompt and press enter after each commands
Now your server will reboot
Once reboot is done , login to your server again and type the following at SSH
Sample Output
CentOS release 6.3 (Final)
Done
Important Note:These steps also apply when you have to upgrade your server to any other Centos 6.x version that might be release in future
Type the following lines at the SSH prompt and press enter after each commands
yum clean all
yum -y update
reboot
Now your server will reboot
Once reboot is done , login to your server again and type the following at SSH
cat /etc/redhat-release
Sample Output
CentOS release 6.3 (Final)
Done
