I was wondering how long it usually takes for a domain you registered to be up? Cause im adding files to the site but i can't go to the site.
Time before site is up.

First change its nameservers according to your host and wait for 24 hours. 
or if you have changed nameservers and cannot access website at your computer then your computer have DNS cache, go to some other computer until the dns propagation is done
until that you can access from other pc or you can use temporary ip link of your website!

I registered the domain with http://www.knowinservers.com when i bought there shared hosting.
they have to manually register the domain , it may take some time.
you can check if your domain is registered or not at http://who.is/whois/YOURDOMAIN.COM

What is your domain name?
You can check all the DNS settings i.e. name servers, A record, MX record etc of the domain at: http://intodns.com
If it is not registered yet, the above URL won't show anything for your domain.
