Thinking about doing a website ( Forum )

So yeh, been awhile since i had or played with IPB ( must be atleast 3yrs+ )

Was wondering any pointers or is it still straight forward as in upload to ftp run the installer and tada

most probably it has evolve already, IPB team sure did some innovations.
i use to work with mybb project and i was surprise after a year, mybb has become one of the script that turned out to be one of the easiest to customized.

I've been using MyBB for about 5 years. Definitely give them a go.

All seem to be praising Xenforo actually. especially the alert system they've got where if someone replied to a thread you've participated, it gives an alert message on top saying someone replied to your post. it makes users participate more, making the forum busy.

WIll think abit more then decide on some planning and a decent route to take.

It will be either IPB or Xenforo for sure, not really interested in the free scripts never have been.

Back in the day, I used phpbb ! Was a good script back then and you could do alot with it. Not sure if it's still any good but it might be worth a look !

I vote for Xenforo also. It was much faster than IPB on VPS.
