I decided to make a preview thread so I could get customers before I started! So I still have alot of work to do and the GFX will almost definetely improve from what it is, will add more features when I do progress!

also, js you're selling to the wrong market.
these guys don't buy cms's they buy skins, etc.
anyway im not telling you anymore :P Like i said, i had it all worked out, but if you wanna leave, meh
 
Wtf is with all you guys trolling him? He coded it, it's his call on what price he sets for it. If you don't like it, gtfo of his thread?

Great initiative. But you're going to have to bring down the price by a lot. Most of what you've coded so far is possible in all the free CMS systems out there (Joomla, etc). If you're really hoping to make sales on this, you need to define a USP for it, and set it apart.

P.S: USP (Unique Selling Point) :)
 
It's not fully coded (the CMS system). The theme is coded. Besides, like I said.. his thread, his work, his price. Why flame him for that? :|

@ lifetalk so cause the theme is coded it's worth $250 without any CMS? :|

And will rise - so you'll charge even more than $250 for something that's most likely not better than any free alternative..
 
IMO u should take the advice of the big players in the game (phpbb, joomla).... Make money via advertising on the site containing the download/support system, not by selling the CMS.

Its a long-term plan, but hey, nothing worthwhile comes easy. Honestly, and its just my opinion, your gonna have a hard time selling an already flooded market. I just dont think its unique enough to warrant being "different" from anything else right now.
 
well..man the price is exorbiting .... jay even not making it free, a $100 would be a good price on it ... say u sell 1 per day , u will be rich :)

Yes, but do you have any idea how many UV's phpbb.com or joomla.com gets? Insane amounts. Now stick that together with ummm.. google ad-sense? =)

exactly, if you're gonna make a general CMS, you arent gonna be able to sell it for anything near that price, simple because Joomla, Drupal, etc have enormous community support, and are free.
