I'm using chrome and never has such a problem.

The only problems I had was after WJ got ddosed. it just caused errors with the banners one or twice that's all.

You do understand that those ads has actual value and its relevant services for the users of WJ? and when u suggest everyone blocks em it does hurt WJ and both service providers?

Its like spitting into the well you drink from.

You come to someones friends store, eat their food, drink their drinks, but basically telling everyone NOT to buy from them, (aka block all ads).

I know you don't really care, but just trying to point the idea out.
