I have stopped all the updates in Windows 7 but still updates run. Please do help.

Check if the settings have applied as windows 7 is buggy with setting saving.

go to your control panel and choose windows update then on the right side click Change settings and make sure to choose never check for updates ( not recommended ) option

Have a system scan through some good Anti Virus Program.
