Hi,

I'm planning to develop a new social network, you know like facebook, myspace, etc. The new thing about it is it will put its users first, so i want to know what you would like to have in it, and what you don't. What I have in my mind will include privacy on by default and revenue sharing. I want to know what you think.

well good luck if u decide to go forward,but remember in the social networking sites u gotta compete with the big boys like fb myb tagged myspace etc. will be really hard to launch a new one and be competitive

If your going to spam his thread and laugh at least tell him why your laughing and it will fail. That maybe of some use to him but replying like you did is no use.

Facebook invest billions each year in research and development. I really don't see you affecting Facebook. You have to approach this from another angle. You can't just copy a site, change one or two minor things and expect it to work. Think of a new unique way of social interaction. That's what Twitter did. They didn't copy Facebook but developed a new way for people to keep in touch and contact as well as share their thoughts and ideas. This is in my oponion the only way to be successful in the social website area by coming up with a completely new idea.
 
First you need is a domain name which will be easily to remember.
Second thing is that you need a custom coded script, with features that no one ever used on their sites, unless you want to be Facebooks servant by using their 'Like' thing.
Third thing is that you need to host it in some private DC. In which you know that they won't steal your files.
 
So you bought a domain name thinking to set up a DDL site and index downloads from warez sites. But, since you were unable to do it (for whatever reason) you're going to REUSE the damned domain for SOCIAL NETWORKING website?

If you're going to start a social network, your first step is to come up with a creative name/brand that can be used and spoken about, with ease.

"Hey, do you have an iDDL profile?"
^ Does not sound very appropriate now, does it?
 
Pretty much what happy said, you need to bring something new on table, copying facebook or myspace won't help at all. Think of good, easy to remember domain name, buy it and goodluck!
 
yeah the domain you got is not for social networking site

and bro i only advise you don't waste your time in this site

its just fucking wasting of money and time too

when there is facebook no one like new social networks

and there are already millions

i also waste my 1 year in this site lol now i realeased that the warez is better then social network lol

make warez site and active that like social network

some board have already many things like social networks have :P (e.g) Vb Board

1. I'll think of a new idea to do it instead of cloning it.
2. Yes it custom coded by me.

About the domain, it never sound good till every one knows it, think about yahoo, google i pet they didn't sound good before they become the giants we know.

2. I think it will be like this:
- All data are hidden from guests
- When you log-in you will have these tabs:
1) Home: to show updates
2) Profile: to show your profile
3) Contacts: to show your contacts (your friends or contacts you enter and save their details)
4) Documents: to save your documents
5) Music: to save your music
6) Videos: to save your videos
7) Pictures: to save your pictures
8) Games: to play online games
9) Files: to save all your other files
10) Links: to save your bookmarks
- You can share the data with all your friends or only some of them

I'll will make use of iddl.me as revenue sharing webmasters forum and also have it custom coded, do you have any ideas about that?

No, what i have in mind is some thing like a cloud computer, where you have all your files with you any where online, and can share it with your friends and be social in the same time.

I have edited the topic and will open new one soon to discuss iddl the revenue sharing webmasters form, and continue discussing the social network here.
