Is there anyway to skip the conversion in videomega.tv?
The videos quality is greatly affected. Does it auto converts video that doesn't fit certain requirements, for example 360p+, 500mb+, bitrate, format or a mix of all or no matter what?
I would like to convert them in my computer if possible so videomega wouldn't use their crappy conversion settings.

Thank you for helping me.

Hi...

I used videomega and when i upload mp4 videos (720p) the conversion was very fast and quality was amazing.... but in mkv files the history was a litle bit diferent, conversion was not fast!

I hope your videos have a lot views because if you start upload several videos and you dont have views, they will delete your videos. I stop using videomega because of this! But if your videos are popular and have views, then go ahead.

Yea, I heard of those mysteriously video deletes. What other video sharing/hosting would you recommend me then?

I tried a lot of them and at the moment my favorites are:
- uploadc.com (very good video quality)
- videoslasher.com
- yourupload.com
- slickvid.com
- filezy.net

(... at the moment!)

After some tests I realized that VideoMega converts the video bitrate to around 1mbps and the audio to 96kbps

Here are some tests I have done over the past 3 hours

Original Clip
Resolution: 1920x1080
Video Bitrate: 2423 kbps
Audio Bitrate: 152 kbps stereo
Frames: 29

uploadc.com
Ads: Yes, 2 windows popups
Upload w/o acc: Yes
Upload Speed: 80+ Kbps
Download Speed: 350 KBps
Max File Size: 1 Gb (1.5 if registered)
Video Bitrate: Original
Audio Bitrate: Original
Resolution: Original
Frames: Original

filezy.net
Ads: Only 1 window popup if you click in the right place.
Upload w/o acc: Yes
Upload Speed: 70+ KBps
Download Speed: 435 KBps
Max File Size: 1 Gb
Video Bitrate: Good
Audio Bitrate: Good
Resolution: Unable to verify
Frames: Unable to verify
Other: Possible lossless

videoslasher.com
Ads: Yes, a shit load of them
Upload w/o acc: Yes
Upload Speed:
Download Speed: 150 Kbps
Max File Size: 2 Gb (5 if FTP)
Video Bitrate: 750-1000 Kbps
Audio Bitrate: Lack of equipment to judge
Resolution: 852x480
Frames: 29
Other: Converts to .FLV

slickvid.com
Ads: Yes, Lots of windows popups
Upload w/o acc: No
Upload Speed: 70+ KBps
Download Speed: 300 KBps
Max File Size: 3 Gb
Video Bitrate: 800 Kbps
Audio Bitrate: 80 Kbps
Resolution: 624x352
Frames: 23
Other: 250 GB per account, Adblock complain while watching

yourupload.com
Ads: Yes, In video player, need to close before pressing play
Upload w/o acc: No
Upload Speed: 70+ KBps
Download Speed: 400 KBps
Max File Size: Limited by the storage?
Video Bitrate: Original
Audio Bitrate: Original
Resolution: Original
Frames: Original
Other: 5 Gb per account, 50 Gb bandwidth/month

Except for SlickVid all adds can be blocked with Adblock extension.

Conclusion:
If it wasn't for the 5gb storage limitations I would have pick yourupload as the best video sharing service. That said I'm going to use filezy. uploadc is also a great alternative.
