Hi,
So my question is quite simple...
When should you use Shared / VPS / Dedicated hosting (budget / High Spec) plans??

For example, the answer that I'm looking for is...

Shared:
Tiny database no bigger than 100MB
5 users online at a time

VPS:

Medium sized database - 300MB
20 users online at a time

Dedicated Hosting:

Large sized database - 600MB
70 users online at a time.

Just something like that... My figures above are TOTALLY random, it's just for an example.
Please shed some light on the subject =)
Giving "figures" might be the wrong way to look at it... So feel free to point in the right direction.

Thanks

Hi,

Shared hosting :-

Shared hosting is generally for a smaller websites with size upto 2 GB ( including database ) however it really depends on the traffic of the website if its having high traffic or low. If its low traffic website go for Shared hosting but once its converted in high traffic think of upgrading the hosting to VPS.

VPS Hosting : -

When you have got a lot of visitors along with the requirement of the website that it needs to be hosted seperately as its consuming more cpu and ram for databases and other applications like videos, gaming and streaming , A VPS is then require for website. You can use that VPS to host multiple websites too.

Dedicated Hosting :-

Well this is really something for business critical websites , which has got high level of traffic , other applications , websites that are gathering some data from other users , or an online portal etc...

Well above are still not standard suggestions , since some times a business critical can be hosted on a VPS too if it has got low resources requirements and few lower the traffic

So you really need to keep watching on the resources that are being used by website such as RAM , Bandwidth , no. of hits and applications that you are going to run on the website.
