Self hosted videos vs video hosting services?

I have a small modest porn site with 17k video views per day, I'm earning around 3$ from those views (3rd and 4th tier traffic).
Do you think that if I rented a cloud storage and hot linked my vids with a custom video player with my ads it will get me more money? I use clickadu for banner ads and I think they have video ads.
I only have 300GB of videos but I'll reach 500GB by the end of this year for sure.
and if somebody can recommend a cloud service that can provide hot linking that would be great(I only need 500GB with 1TB bandwidth), because I'm using a vps and upgrading to a plan that has 500GB is extremely expensive.

Of course it gets more money. But you need to think of other things as well.

1. If you hotlink your videos any other website will try to use your hotlink as well.
2. If your site grows your upkeep costs will rapidly grow
3. You cant handle all videos with single server.

It's not about storage because storage is cheap. You need a look at high uplink servers to handle traffic.

yeah my server's ram and cpu probably won't be able to handle that, I'll just stick to third party video hosting for now
 
It's not about ram and cpu. You can stream to 1000 people with 2 cores and 1gb of ram. It's all about network connection at your server and storage.

Video bitrate * Users = Uplink.


So if you have 4Mb/s bitrate per video * 1000 users you need 4Gbps outgoing uplink.
