I will say look wise site is not much appealing.
Logo is OK.
Favicon is good
I don't like the theme

You need to work on your theme if you want people to stay on your site.
BTW my sie theme is also not so appealing :'( :'(

I can't say because I myself not searched for different styles while starting my forum. I made it by myself.
I just changed the css, images and some template codes.
