I made this suggestion in the staff section. But what we really need is a way to prevent, because when a member goes on a spamming spre normal mods can't do anything but deleting till a person arrives that can ban or revoke posting abilities.
 
Hyperz makes a good point. You need to stop people from signing up at the source, but with proxy users....good luck with that.

If you need help with the site I'm your man. I'm on the computer for like 12 - 15 hours a day. If ya need me let me know.
 
I actually meant that maybe us mods should have some way to temporary revoke a members posting ability till a Super mod/Admin arrives. It saves us time and it saves space :).
 
How about if the first 5 posts of a new member have to to be approved by a moderator before being visible? It would solve all this spamming nonsense.

That's probably the best option. It does create a little bit more work for the mods, and people can still abuse this, but it should help a lot.

guaranteed that would make tons of work and not solve it completely. i agree with phamous. a usa mod thats online all the time.. whom comes to mind <0-----
 
heres an idea:
Have some kind of report a spammer button, say next to the Report a post button,
Make it so that when this button gets clicked by 5 members in like 3 minutes, that persons posts need to then be verified before they appear?
Im sure someone from here could code that?
and itd be pretty effective because as a community we do hate spammers :D
