Hi Guys

A friend of mine has had his account closed. When he asked " why " the said it was because he was downloading illegal material !!!!

Is something happening within RS that we don't know about ? Also what advice should I give my friend.

I presume we r talking abt a premium account here.
His account got closed or blocked? Wut error msg duz he see when he tries to login with tht acc? Did he share his acc. with sum1? Did he access his account from different locations/places in a day?

Best thing to do in such cases is to send them a mail saying your account might've been hacked as you would never use it for illegal purpose...show complete ignorance.
 
Yes, I think this is what you might get if you ask for a payout ....

It also could be that the account is hacked and that this email has been sent by the hacker ....
 
probably ur account got hacked/phished and a hacker wants to convince u that it is gone for life while it's still there so that he can keep it for himself
 
Seen this several times on Katz forum! The account is almost for sure phised and someone else has now the access. Tell your friend to contact Rapidshares support and they will for sure be able to help him.

I do not think it is a hacker. Here is what he has said regarding the Questions earlier.

Q) Is the account closed or blocked?
A) SAYS NO ACCOUNT RECOGNIZED

Q) What error messages do you get when you try loggin into RS ?
A) Said account found incorrect password then I requested new and said account does not exist

Q) Did you share this Account with someone ?
A) No I have not shared this with anyone

Q) Did you access the account from different locations/places in a single day?
A)Not that I recall

Your account has been hacked dude. Some hackers know fake email sender which can be used to do so. Just email rs back and then the account is your again :)
