So about a few weeks ago I turned iGotMusic into a private uploading community.

Only the uploading part is private though, meaning only people in a somekind of uploader groups (aka Members Group 2) will be able to post in the download sections. Offcourse everything is still public to look at.

I did this because I was sick and tired of logging in the next day, seeing 400 new threads, and 300 of them are complete crap: Live links, no information (pics etc..), horrible titles, un-popular uploading sites, quadrupled thread posting, etc..

So now only that group is allowed to post downloads, and regular members are allowed to just PM us to be included in the group (if their posts are clean.)

Since IGM has now been online for about a year, I don't need the extra stats. We're in a good position to now concentrate on quality rather than quantity.

So what do you guys think about "Private Uploading"? Like it? Hate it? Both? Comment your responses below.

didn't see the upper post ..

i love the skin of the site :D a bit laggy but looks nice and you surely have taken the right road with the uploading ;)
 
I think it's an great that a site is finally doing this.

Me myself has been wanting to do this for a long, long time, but with everything not just music but I didn't really have the man power to support the idea and it would of been just me.

Let me know if you need uploaders as I may be able to help out.

If you can find me some good clean music uploaders then yea more is welcome B-)

Specially since now we're limited in who posts. Only about 40+ are in the uploaders group atm, but only a few post everyday.
 
There it good and bad..

Good because you will only get the best quality post/download.

Bad because upload involves the popular music/artist easily get block by filehosting. If you only have 1-2 upload same stuff.. they might all just been block in few day, not all uploader do re-upload.

The second part won't be an issue, even when everyone could upload, we have always had a very good distinct music collection, its not just whats playing on the radio B-)
 
Private uploading is the way to go for me ! helps build up rep for the site , though it can prove difficult for new sites !
