A few days ago I got an invite for a private affiliate account at a filehost. Private means they don't advertise or promote their affiliate system in public. They're offering a PPS only system, 50% of initial sale, 20% of rebills. Rates seem quite low but they claim they don't shave to compensate and have been around for years with high affiliate and user retention rates (whatever that means).
Judging from my current statistics they estimated I would earn around 50$-100$ a month. On the affiliation page I can set a lot of options like if the user should wait before download, if a Captcha is required, what speed free users get, max dl size and some more. I'm also allowed to set custom promotions as I please, like 1 Gbit download speeds for free users to promote my files for a weekend.
So, for the question: does anyone have "good" experiences with private affiliation systems, are they worth it? Or should I just focus on the public big names?
