[Photoshop] - Create an Electric Text Effect

Step-By-Step

1. File New, 1000px X 1000px (White Background).

2. Change the Background to Black, Click (Ctrl+I).

3. Add some Text of your Choice. Size (180pt)

4. Duplicate the Text Layer

5. Make sure the Original Text Layer is Selected and Click on (Filter, Stylize, Wind)

6. Click on to Rasterize Layer, Make sure Direction is 'From the Right' and Method is 'Wind', then press Ok.

7. Then Press 'CTRL+F' Twice. Now it should Look like this.

8. Click on (Filter, Stylize, Wind) again and then make sure Direction is 'From the Left' and Method is 'Wind', then press Ok.

7. Then Press 'CTRL+F' Twice Again. Now it should Look like this.

8. Now Click on (Image, Image Rotation, 90 Degrees CW)

9. Again, Click on (Filter, Stylize, Wind) - 'From the Right', OK. Then Press CTRL+F Twice Again.

10. Then, Click on (Filter, Stylize, Wind) - 'From the Left', OK. Then Press CTRL+F Twice Again.

11. Rotate the Image 90 Degrees CCW. (Image, Image Rotation, 90 Degrees CCW.

12. Right Click on the Original Text Layer, Blending Options.

13. Add a 'Color Overlay' and Choose whatever Color you want (Black will be Invisible). And We are Done!

Nice share, I like the lightning effect, but the text could use some more work. Looking forward to your next. :)
