Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding the limitation on your
account. If the issue with your account is in part a problem with the
name, you may request a name change.
You can change the name on your account only if there is an error, you
legally changed your name, or you used a nickname or fictitious name.
You cannot change the name on your account to another person's name. We
will notify you by email when we complete the name change on your
account.
Here’s how you change the name on your account if there is an error in
your name:
1. Go to
www.paypal.com and log in to your account.
2. Click 'Help' at the top of the page.
3. Enter 'How do I change my name?' in the search window and click
'Search.
4. From the search results, select 'How do I change the name on my
Personal/Premier PayPal account?' and then click ‘secure form.’
5. Select ‘Personal Name Change (incorrect at signup or minor name
change)’ and click ‘Continue.’
6. If you are correcting a minor error in your name, select ‘No.’
For us to be able to process the name change you need to provide the
following documents by uploading or faxing them to us:
* A copy of a valid photo identification showing your name (a
driver's license, a passport, or any other government-issued photo
identification).
* A copy of a recent statement for the bank account, credit card, or
debit card that is listed on your PayPal account, or a recent utility
bill, showing your new name and address exactly as they should appear on
your PayPal account.
Here’s how you upload your documents:
1. Log into your account at
www.paypal.com
2. Click 'Help' at the top of the page to visit our Help Center.
3. Type 'How do I change my name?' and click 'Search'
4. From the results, select the answer 'How do I change the name on my
Personal/Premier PayPal account? '
5. Click on the 'secure form' link.
6. Select 'Personal Name Change (marriage, divorce, legal)' and click
'Continue'.
7. Click 'Upload Files'.
8. Browse for the file you want to upload and click 'Attach This File'.
9. Click 'Send Files to PayPal'.
Here’s how you fax your documents:
1. Click, ‘Continue to Fax Cover Sheet.’
2. Enter your name, a brief description of your request, and how many
pages you are faxing (include the cover sheet as a page).
3. Click ‘Print Page.’
4. Please fax these documents to 0044 8707 303 190.
Once we have received and reviewed your documents, we will notify you by
e-mail that your name has been changed on your account.
