I've ran into issues with wordpress and SEO. I run a adult fileshare website as a hobby project and i've noticed that google barely index anything anymore even though the site has been getting more and more popular.

I've seen that other sites that rip my posts over rss feeds rank higher then me, when i'm publishing the original material.

I think the issue is duplicate content. Since the site is adult i have a lot of tags, first i have tags based on the "model" or "pornstar" featured in the post, then i have generic tags like "softcore" "hardcore" "anal" etc to categorize even further. This is great for the users as they can easily browse the stuff they want to find but not as good for search engines as everything looks like dupe spam.

For tags i've done a simple else if statement that if a post is a tag that has more then 3 posts and isn't one of the generic tags stated in an array they will be indexed, otherwise all tags get noindex metatag. I have noindex metatag for all categories, so only homepage and models/pornstars tag pages get indexed + the single post pages of course.

Is it useless to try to optimize wordpress in this way? I feel like it wasn't built for this and using this many tags is bad, yet there are other sites that are just ripping my rss feed and have more tags then me that rank just fine on google, so i'm very confused, perhaps all the DMCA i've gotten has taken me off the index?

Perhaps migrating over to a forum software is better for this kind of website?

I'd be happy to get in contact with some competent wordpress seo guy who could analyze the site and give me some pointers in where my issue lies.
