Oct04 might be a scammer

Hey guys,

This guy contacted me for getting some post buttons made. I made them and he liked the work. He then asked me to make an avatar for him as well and I made that as well. When he got all the three images the way he wanted them (after asking me to make some modifications and shit) he stopped replying. Earlier he had told me he'd be paying using Paypal and PP fees shouldn't be a problem as he'd be covering them. Here's the log of the conversation which contains his last few replies. One can easily see that he stopped replying when he was satisfied with all three works:

I have tried contacting him many times via offline message on msn and I once sent him a PM here but he replied to none of them.

He is currently online both on WJ and MSN. If any mod wants his msn id just pm me or request here. Also request here/PM if you want the full log of our conversation.

I hope you can ban him if he indeed turns out to be a scammer. Btw he owes me $12 :blush:

ur a gfx guy and u handed over ur work without taking payment first? dont see how mods can help u with ur mistake....also deal was on msn...not on wj so...

comeon...the guys been scammed...cut him some slack and find another topic to increase ur postcount....jeez
 
Yea you should watermark them till you receive payment that way they can see it but cant do anything with it unless they pay

This was not on wj their for wj is not responsible
 
Hard to say when to get the payment up front but as a GFX'er ALWAYS add a watermark until paid. One that will definitely spoil the image if tried to be used. And never upload anything but a merged product with watermark. Not the layered image.

Thanks for being a bitch. :) How do you think I feel about it atm? Anyways, that was the price HE offered me cuz PP fees would be charged on the transaction.

He posted his request there and we discussed things in PMs. We used MSN just to make live changes to the design so that I don't have to save it and show him every time via PM. |-)

Exactly. The main reason why I made this thread was to inform the WJ users, who knows he might scam someone else as well?

To everyone else who posted: Yeah, I know it's my mistake. I should have been careful and watermarked it before giving it to him. :/ Thanks for the suggestion anyway. I won't show a non-watermarked image before taking the payment. ;)

@ RK: I think I have been told about this a few times already :P Anyways, from now on I will remember to take payment first. ;)
