Nobbie question about uploading

hi all,
i have been reading this forum for quite a while and intend to make so moolah through uploading xxx after my exams..however when im reading through the tutorials and the helpful threads, i find that many people keep mentioning about splitting the files into 200mb rars..but why 200? why not 201? why not a single file as a whole for people to download? isn't that easier for them to download?

Depends on which host you're using and if you want to get sales or downloads. If you use, lets say, Oron you should split your files cause it will bring you sales.

1.More download counts ,because of multiple rars for every file

1.Lower payment for each download , because of the lower filesize

2.Greater chance for premium sale , because every filehost have a waiting time between downloads and when the file is in parts , the user must wait between each rar download

2.Greater chance for the user to ignore your threads and downloading the whole files through other threads

3.Possible increase of earnings in short term
