Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone since I am new to this site. I am cmthompson22 and am looking through some different forums for ideas on what to do with my freelancing career. I heard this was one of the best places to come and visit to learn some stuff and that the people are all friendly, so thought I just had to try out here!
I am a freelance writer and have been working in this field for the past three years and love it. I have always loved writing, but never thought I would be able to do this for my full time job until after my first child was born. Now I can’t imagine doing anything else. I have been working mostly on Elance for the past few years, but am trying to move over to the Upwork platform. It is kind of messy so far and not as good of jobs, but with Elance closing, I don’t have much of a choice. Luckily my other options have been doing well and I will be able to continue my dream as a freelance writer for a long time to come.
I am also a graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (lifelong Huskers fan!) in Journalism and Mass Communications with a major in Advertising and Public Relations. I know, the writing job does not have much to do with this, but advertising jobs from home are hard to come by and you make adjustments.
It was nice to meet everyone and I am excited to see all that this forum has to offer!
