New rapidshare system..?

Hi..
Today i saw a new thing in my rapidshare account. First of all the exchange rate has been reduced to 1.96 euro and there is a new point system known as premium rapidpoints..
Can anyone know why these changes are made, or what else changes has been made. What is the use of these new premium rapidpoints..?

until they put some information in the news we wont know...as far ive seen new account is 1998 free points and extend 10k and as mentioned above the rate decreased by 4 cents..lets wait and see what they are up to
 
They've just changed the exchange rate, They've always said it will change.

As for the rapidshare premium thing don't have a clue about that
 
dman this sucks i created 10 accounts few days ago for 5000 points and 1 ref point and now it's just 2K points LoL Could make 10 accounts again !

Premium RapidPoints: 2669

now u dont need to give your 30000 points with 30 referrer points to get 60Euro....

minimum req. for payoff is changed..ie. 30 referrer points n no pending rewards...

also, i have 88 referrer points n i was just about to make a payoff with rate of 2Euro, but as rate has changed now, i dont understand i should wait for it to improve or make a payoff...
 
i think tht 1998 pts. special offer is juz for few days, so enjoy it while u can.

r u sure we can redeem an acc for juz 1896 rapid points?

yup this offer is valid for few days/hours only. I m happy that they are not asking for 1 RefPoint(2.8 USD approx.) for creating an acc. :)
 
At last some info about the "premium rapidpoints" at rapidshare, those points can be exchanged against free rapidpoints (1000premium=1250free) or against refferer points (2000premium=1referrer). Source: rapidshare api documentation.

Free RapidPoints: Means the points you are getting when free user downloads the files...
Premium RapidPoints: Means the points you are getting when premium users download the files...
Mite be that not perfectly sure me and my friend...

i think RS guyz r working on it, i dont think we can convert premium points at present, they will add the option to convert PP>FP soon, most probably after lifting the 1998 special offer. Any idea for what duration this special offer is valid?
 
@ simplyS :mite be they are keeping the prem points for beta testing...not sure eh....
or the prem points can be also used for redeeming products....
