I don't see the problem. He's offering to pay whatever you charge after one year. He'll pay for the hosting but want's one year credit. It's a bit like when you buy a car and you don't have to pay anything for the first year. It's not exactly a free car. The thing is though most WJ hosts probably don't last longer than a year so he's taking advantage of this. If your confident your host will last more than a year than you could potentially make a lot of money.

Do you trust this guy? Probably not but if say I or someone else was looking for 6 months or a whole year and offered to pay a larger than normal amount after the year providing the host was still alive I'd probably get a few offers.

It's a perfect business model you can use to buy stuff like cars, furniture, etc. Think of it like a credit card.

Except that you cannot trust a guy on the Internet to pay up after a year. He could just pack up and leave after 8 months. There goes all your 'potential revenue'.

Real life is different, because you can actually track the person down and get him to pay up; but this, nah this is risky. Lasting for one year is not a problem, although the majority of WJ hosts close down a few days shy of a month or two, it's trusting the client who's going to use your service for a full year and not pay you anything, except a promise of payment. A promise of payment, for me, is not worth spending money on someone I cannot trust.

If this is real life, maybe someone will credit you, but a lot of requirements like buying a car, appliances etc. Sad to say this is online, how the company will give you a credit for insufficient credentials?
