Need Hardcore DDos Protection Tutorial

Well,
Basically, I have Secured my friend's VPS with Basic DDos Protection (I know this only)
But, still he is being DDosed by some skids.
He runs a Security cum Hacking site and you know, Hacking Sites gets Hacked lol
So, I need to protect his Server from Heavy DDos and for that, I need to do a Hardcore DDoS protection on his VPS
I have changed the SSH Port, Chaneged even the Virtuozzo Port, I have do some Basic DDos Protection, but this isn't preventing his VPS from being DDoSed.
So if anyone can provide me a tutorial on how to Protect a Server from Heavy DDos, then please reply.

I switched over Apache & Lighttpd simultaneously :p

ask the host to turn the server off for a day. lol they would have stopped by then, and you can then actually get a response from it. which makes it easier.

Actually, I turned Off his VPS for like 3 days lol
He didn't liked it and said that he wants to run his site. After 3 days, again his VPS was being Heavily DDosed

Well, he is more into Computer Hacking Stuffs like making Viruses, Keylogging, Binding the Viruses, Making Cryptors, etc.
He does less of Server Hacking, he knows how to get into a site's control panel. He has also tried his best to secure his server. But eventually he failed. So he turned to me to do that for him. I also did my best, but eventually, I failed too lol
The DDoSer is doing this from a Pakistan IP, if you want, I can post his IP too.

I know that you're a Web Security Expert and you know hacking too, but are all rounder ? I mean, can you get into other people's PCs ? Or Hack other Network Protocols ?
Not everyone here is an allrounder. My friend has less knowledge of Server Management.

everything you just said makes absolutely no sense, and if your getting ddosed offline by 1 ip you need to quit trying to run shit for people.

Well, actually, I had Blacklisted all the IPs from which he was DDosing

Anyways, it was my mistake that I posted for help here, as it didn't came to my mind that 'some' people just wanna go against me. (I don't know why)
But, I have learnt my lesson, that never to ask for help from people on WJ (except few)

I have done what you said, and till now, the server is running fine and not getting DDosed :D
Hope this continues for long and that moron hacker doesn't DDos again :)
