megui speed problem

Hi guys, i started to encoding movies with megui. I bought an encoding rdp for this purpose but after my first encode i realized that the whole process took too long. Then i tried to do the same on my Home computer, i used the same settings and same source for encoding. And this is the result:

i used the same source file (4GB file) on both and encoded it into a avi file (2pass) and left everything by default

Encoding RDP - (processor Xeon E5 2420, Ram 32GB) - 1.5 hours, 50 FPS
Home computer - (processor i3 4005U, Ram 4GB) - 1.5 hours +, 50 FPS


So what i want to say, why the hell is the speed almost same on both machines when te difference is so big in hardware? Took almost same time and got same FPS. Should not be the speed on the encoding rdp much higher?

If you're encoding to h264 format, you might want to check and configure the number of threads used on it. If you're encoding to xvid or something else, maybe the encoding is only limited to 1 thread. I'm not sure about other setting, but AFAIK xvid encoding is normally using only 1 thread in MeGUI no matter what number of cores you have.
