Megaupload founder Dotcom will face new charges if he launches new file-sharing service

Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom could violate the terms of his bail, or face new criminal charges, if he launches a new file-sharing and storage service as planned, the US Department of Justice said in a court filing this week.

Dotcom, who said earlier this month he plans to launch a service called Mega, would renege on assurances he made to a New Zealand court before he was granted bail in the DOJ's copyright infringement case against him and Megaupload, the DOJ said in a court document filed late Wednesday.

"Defense Counsel's claim that the corporate defendant can and should be allowed to operate undermines the sworn statements of Dotcom that he has no plans or ability to continue to operate or fund the businesses in the Indictment during pendency of the extradition process"
That means only if he relaunch the old megaupload, but MEGA is a new business.

DOJ misleading the court, as usual. Giving Megaupload users their files back = Rehabilitation. New Mega = New Business. Doh!

You are all so unbelievable.

Send Kim your money, his new site will never become operational.

Whether he owns it or not if you read and understand the terms of his release he can not engage as the owner or agent of any online file service, period.

His call for investors is to secure some more money, his new investors may as well throw their money in a camp fire.

I just know i would never pay or give money to any related to megaupload, Kim wont never provide a secure, stable and legal filehost (Just like Rapidshare does nowadays) because he has ongoing legal processes open all over Pacific (Yankies & Aussies)

He has been tweeting that he is working on a new megaupload for months and months now. Even if it is not launched. If it said on his release that he cannot Work on filesharing websites. He has already breached it from months ago.

Mad props and respect to him that he has bigger balls than the owners of fileserve and filesonic.

They were a Bunch of little girls running away when they weren't even a target. LOLOL!

No they actually have to wait for third party file sharing of any kind occur.

So good to see you took the time to read the post directly above yours.

Balls do not mean much when you find yourself back in jail and there is no bond because you violated the original terms of your release on bond.

Those owners who you call cowards taken the most intelligent action for their safety, they retiered before be a target because unlike Megaupload, they were paying directly to affiliates for upload contents.

Run now or die paying lawyers, thats what FileSonic owner thought before buy plane tickets for some Caribbean island.
