Everyone on WJunction loves drama but when it's between two of the biggest Internet companies it's even better.

Short version of the story is Twitter released a statement saying it was pissed off at Google for their recent update and rightly so as the update will mean less organic traffic to Twitter and more to Google.

Well Google responded not on an official blog but on G+. https://plus.google.com/116899029375914044550/posts/24uqWqvALud

Basically Google are bitching that Twitter were asking for too much money to allow Google to use their fire hose (direct twitter feed). Then Twitter added nofollow which means Google can't follow the links. This close friendship ended last July but they have only started arguing and making public statements about it now.

It's like a girlfriend fighting with an old boyfriend saying no it was your fault.

I'm waiting for Twitter to respond with a Tweet.

google is simply better than twitter. wtf can twitter do ? Google is the biggest search engine on the net and twitter want to fight against them because of some traffic ?

Google have fucked up anyway since every search for every single person is different.

Who the hell edited my post,i followed the rules so why was it edited.
Staff or not,you cant do what ever you want and there should be note regarding on who made changes.
I've had two posts removed and my topic edited so it's not just you.

The original Google link in the first post I had went to my profile as I was logged in. I had to log out and get the real link so ye could see the post. That's what all the confusion was about and why staff removed all the off topic replies. It was no way advertising my profile and forgot the link was different for logged out users. That's all and it was edited in 2 minutes.

Let's forget that and move back ontopic.

This will be a nice battle to watch.

"Google could blacklist Twitter and totally screw them."
Techinally they could, but Twitter have such a huge following that they don't need Google traffic, yeah it's welcomed I'm sure, but they could survive fine without it.

Will look at this one a bit closer, and if you have any updates Mr. Happy, please let us know. :)
