Litewarez Downloads Table (Help)

Heya Everyone,

Im having some issues with my site and need some help on what i can do fix it!

the issue is the downloads table on the site! (http://litewarez.net)

If you look at it you will probs think ok its not bad but if your like me and you pick up on the tille things then you will notice that the links are not atrcting the eye as much as they need to be

so what i need is advice on how i can improve the style to make the surrounding items stand out less so the links get the spotlight!

not sure if you all can see the problems but its really bugging me!

and CSS, Images, Fonts, Moves just let me know and ill try it out to see if its better xD

I tried that but then it seems a little over done ~! its like with other ddl sites as you read down the list you can read every download after another without distractions, whereas mine seems like theres other items distracting the eye causing you too look to the right of the table :/
 
I suggest changing the colour of the green up arrows & the text colour of:

...thus making them less prominent.

and have a » or a small right-pointing arrow before every download title (i.e. pointing towards the title) - something similar to what j37 has done on AW:

i did the same on ddl0, but I forgot why I removed them :/

move the rating column to the left of the provider (just try it, it will make a difference)

changing the table layout will make a big difference, don't add any extra text decoration or styles cos it will just end up looking shit.


on a side note, center the "type" heading and the "tools" column
 
You're right m8..
When I see the first screenshot, my eyes look to the right of the table..
How about change the green sign to grey color?

hmmm..
I will comment again when found another clue.. :D

my 2 cents.

- increase table BG color for links. so it stands out.

make provider color green and arrow black.

also as J said, increase the table size a little.. maybe 15-20% so it looks bigger n more maneuverable.

Right, I've so many ideas I've decided to make the changes for you to see in Photoshop. Hope you like them:
  • Remove Ratings - their rarely used, often abused and grab too much attention and clutter
  • Add File Hosts - Yes it's copying Katz and AtomicWarez but it's incredibly useful
  • Green Arrows - made them a lot lighter so they don't grab as much attention
  • RSS Feeds - added image. nobody know's what rss is but everyone recognizes the image
  • Search - love it so just added the "Enter Search Term" as the box it's a bit faint and hard to see
  • IMDB - added image instead of "Tools" as it wasn't obvious what the tools were
  • Tags - removed as it did nothing. Re-add it when it's finished but speed up the popup
  • Navigation - added quick access to the downloads as it's more important than tags and rss
  • Twitter - either use it more or remove it. The text also looks weak but I left it alone
  • Areas - got rid of wallpapers and graphics. I'd suggest to combine scripts and templates.

You don't have to use them as their only suggestions but their some of the things I would do if I owned it. Hope you like the ideas :)
