Linux Mint or Ubuntu

its cool . You need not install codecs separately for various stuffs like Ubuntu.

Well Ubuntu not ready to be used out of the box. Mint does include all media codecs....

yes ubuntu and others linux os have same problem except mint. bt still ubuntu is better than mint.

LinuxMint is Ubuntu as it's based off most of Ubuntu version bulid's starting from Kubuntu Dapper 1.0 Beta ending at the current version of Ubuntu which is Ubuntu Oneiric 12.

Just a side note, there is also a mint version based on debian, it's called LMDE
