Hey all,

I am looking into open free DDL sites to download music albums. I live in the USA, so it's illegal. I'm looking for alternatives to torrents, so there will be a zero chance that I'll get busted.

Could anyone recommend some sites?

Thank you,

Depends what you understand as what a 'DDL' site is. The general term is a site like this: http://twilight.ws/

They link to forums / blogs which list links to illegal files. So if you're afraid of the authorities there a no go.

Safest are: Private Torrents (Iptorrents.com, sceneaccess.org) but you need invites for them (which are progressively harder to get) or Usenet with SSL (I use sunnyusenet.com but Astraweb or Giganews is also good) and use sites like nzbmatrix.com.

Perhaps your Internet provider provides Usenet (or officially called NNTP) or else you have to pay for a subscription at the companies I mentioned. Price is about $10 per month.

Hi,

I do have a Usenet data limit a month. I am mentally disabled, so it's hard for me to sort through the newsgroups. I don't know if what I'm going to ask would be free, and also easier. What about downloading NZB files? Or would it be better choice to go through the newsgroups? I have too admit that I tried it many of years ago Forte Agent, and honestly, I had no clue what I was doing. All I saw was some things was marked in red. I don't know about now. Anyway, I have PTD which is PenTeleData. Here is what they offer below. Does it look like they offer Usenet?

This page allows you to view the total amount of Usenet (newsgroup) data that you have transferred during the current monthly usage period.
Usenet Transfer Statistics
Username: baseball01
Current Transfer: 0 Gigabytes
Date of Sample: Mon Mar 19 13:36:18 EDT 2012
Allowed Transfer: 10.0 Gigabytes
Counter will reset on: 4/1/12
Help
Please note that if you exceed your transfer limit before the end of the current usage period, you will not be permitted to download any additional newsgroup data from the news server until the next monthly usage period begins.

Was you talking to me earlier? Or was you talking about the person who replied with the music sites?

I am still waiting to see if someone could help me with free Usenet.

Thank you everyone for replying!

It depends really, for most known shit you have Usenet. Obviously the best way. For smaller bands/ more unknown ones you either have to look at niche blogs or get an invite to what. Good luck man.
